Chickadee Newsletter Week of 1/7/2019

Good Evening Chickadee Families,

This was a fun and busy week. We did quite a lot.

On Monday we used Q-tips and white paint to make snow paintings. The q-tips are a good fine motor skill tool, and it is fun to experiment with different instruments.
Tuesday we had Yoga. Some of the kids really enjoy it, while other children are still trying to figure it out. There is now another “Class Art” picture on the wall that the children drew Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday is always fun with Mr. Scott. It is so much fun dancing and singing and playing instruments.
Thursday we tried sorting green and blue icecubes into green and blue bowls. We quickly learned that color sorting is a little beyond their level, but stacking the icecubes and putting them back into the trays is loads of fun.The weather was so lovely that we decided to go out for a little walk.
The week wrapped up with making “Stained Glass” snowflakes. Those are up in the class window.

Hopefully you all got Kristen’s update email. She introduced our two new teachers, Miss Stephany and Miss Andrea.

We are currently still enrolling in Soccer and Spanish, January 21st, MLK day, we are closed for a professional development/ teacher work day. There is space available for our next Parent Night Out, hosted by Ari at ALK, on Saturday January 26th from 4:30 – 8:30. Please sign up on signup sheet next to the check in computer in the lobby if you’d like to participate.

There are now Take Home Folders on the counter. Things that need to go home will be put there for parents to take home. Please try to check these once a week.

A few stray socks have shown up, you can check the “Found Sock” bin by the front door to see if any of them belong to you. Please remember to put names on clothing items whenever possible. It is very help to have names written on the tags of jackets and snow boots especially.

Lastly, it has been so wonderful working with your children. I have loved the Chickadees so much. I am grateful to have gotten the opportunity to know you all, and so it is bittersweet to follow my journey and have to say good-bye.

With much love,
